Getting started
What is FarReach?
FarReach lets you use a computer from somewhere else. Open your office PC from home, help an employee with a problem on their screen, or check on a computer after hours.
What do I need to use it?
A Windows PC at each end and an internet connection. FarReach installs on each computer you want to reach.
Do I need to change my router or firewall?
On most networks, no. FarReach connects out to its servers, so there's nothing to open or forward on your router.
Can I reach a computer when nobody is there?
Yes. Give that computer a password only you know, and you can connect whenever it's turned on and online.
Can I move files between computers?
Yes. While you're connected, you can send files in either direction.
Security and privacy
Who can connect to my computer?
Only someone with that computer's ID and password, or someone you let in by clicking Allow. You can see who's connected and end the connection anytime.
Is my connection encrypted?
Yes. Your screen, what you type and the files you send are encrypted between your two computers.
Can FarReach see my screen?
No. Our servers help your computers find each other and, when needed, pass the encrypted connection along. They can't see what's on your screen, and they don't record your sessions.
Do you sell or share my data?
We never sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers. The only outside companies that handle it are the ones that help us run FarReach, like our server host, and only to provide that service. Our Privacy Policy has the details.
Where are FarReach's servers?
In the United States.
